  1. So much yes!! I like to buy wrapping paper, gift boxes, cards, cleaners (I don’t get stuff like brooms since they’ve broken on me before though), decor, and craft items. I love Dollar Tree for picking up items for parties. Stuff like disposable plasticware and punch bowls are so much more expensive at Party City and even Walmart. I haven’t tried the pregnancy tests (lol), but I’ve heard they’re just as good as conventional tests, so I’ll keep that in mind too!

Sounds like you’re a Dollar Tree pro, Mrs. PP! The pregnancy test tip isn’t always useful for everyone, obviously, but the savings potential is huge.

  2. Balloons are an incredible deal at dollar stores. Especially right before a valentine’s! We also by candy/snacks there on the way to the movie theater.

We go to the dollar often too….we mostly get household items, greeting cards, spices, snacks and cleaning supplies

  4. Put me down for birthday cards, plastic storage containers and, believe it or not, those handy but otherwise overpriced at other stores, things like cell phone cords and chargers, USB sticks etc.

My first stop is always the dollar stores. If the quality is too low, I move on but often it’s the right item at the right price.

One thing that does always hit me is the amount of plasticy junk that they also have on the shelves. That, out there in the world, some factory is busy producing the little piece of plastic crap apparently to make our lives just that little bit easier and more comfortable. It’s shameful how much of it really is just waste, imho.

I love the dollar tree. I will have to disagree with some of the cleaning supplies suggestion though. The toilet cleaner, shower/tub cleaner, and glass cleaner is not the same as the bigger brands. They leave a terrible smell and it doesn’t feel like it gets stuff clean. We got those products when we bought our first house, and we never will again. Everything else is spot on in my opinion though.
